Magnesia carbon bricks are widely used in steelmaking processes, especially in basic oxygen furnaces, electric arc furnaces, ladle linings, etc. Magnesium-carbon bricks are dominant in ladle slag lines because they have excellent slag permeability resistance and excellent thermal shock resistance due to the non-wettability of carbon (graphite) and slag, high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion and high toughness, and therefore have high heat resistance.
