What is the difference between magnesia carbon brick and aluminum magnesia carbon brick

Posted time:2022-03-29 Page view:35855

Magnesia carbon brick is an unburned carbon composite refractory material, which is made of magnesium oxide with a high melting point (2800℃) of basic oxide and a high melting point of carbon material, which is difficult to be corroded by slag, and has added various non-oxide additives and carbon adhesives.

As a kind of composite refractory material, magnesia-carbon brick effectively uses the strong slag corrosion of magnesium, effectively improves the thermal conductivity and low expansion of carbon, and makes up for the shortcomings of magnesium's poor spalling resistance. Magnesia carbon brick is mainly used in the lining of converter, electric arc furnace, DC electric arc furnace, ladle slag line and other parts.

So what is the difference between magnesia carbon brick and aluminum magnesia carbon brick?

The difference between magnesia carbon brick and aluminum magnesia carbon brick is that the raw materials used are not the same, magnesia carbon brick is a resin-bonded brick, made of fused magnesia and graphite. Magnesia-carbon bricks, if desired, can also add antioxidants, magnesia-carbon bricks perform well in terms of heat resistance, corrosion resistance, corrosion resistance and resistance to spalling. Magnesia carbon brick is mainly used in the lining of converter, electric arc furnace, DC electric arc furnace, ladle slag line and other parts. Magnesium-aluminum-carbon bricks are made of high-quality bauxite, corundum, fused magnesia and graphite. Aluminum-magnesium-carbon bricks have appropriate residual expansion, low thermal conductivity and better insulation properties. Aluminum-magnesia carbon bricks are used for the slag line of the ladle, the lower part of the ladle wall, the bottom of the ladle and the free zone of the ladle.
